Kitchens by Wood Design are a family owned kitchen design and manufacturing company based in Kerikeri, along with a showroom in Whangarei.
Kitchens by Wood Design focus on kitchens for newly built homes or complete kitchen renovations.
From the initial design to the final installation, our company will cater to even the most demanding brief. Our qualified in-house designers are innovative and well acquainted with both the aesthetics and functionality of modern, classic and contemporary kitchen design.
With a wealth of knowledge and experience the manufacturing team is fastidious at producing the perfect final result.
Kitchens by Wood Design use our own professional team of staff for the installation of our kitchens, not sub-contractors. This ensures that our high level of expectations and quality is carried through to the concluding stage.
What makes us different
The history of Kitchens by Wood Design dates back four generations.
Since the foundation of EC Contracting in 1931, through to Kitchens by Wood Design designing and manufacturing custom made cabinetry has been part of our makeup.
1950 the company is passed into the hands of the second generation, focusing on creative graphics and designs. Situated on the now bustling street of Broardway, Newmarket, The Design Centre managed by HM Foster was the early beginnings of design and marketing work for companies like Fisher and Paykel, Sleepyhead, Watties Food and Tip Top, just to name a few.
Twenty years later, The Design Centre has now grown considerably and in order to cope with the demand and staff numbers is now located at 56 Broadway.
By 1970, the Design Centre has stepped a step further creating scale models for building, roading and commercial projects.
The 1980's has brought the third generation into the company, now designing and manufacturing custom office fit-outs

February 2005, Wood Design was established in Kerikeri, and the love of designing and manufacturing has been passed onto the fourth generation.
