We really had no choice, we had to change what we were doing. We've been around for over 20 years as Wisker Decorating Ltd and we've always taken pride in our reputation of being just about the best in the game, and that's something that will never change. But other things have changed. When we joined in the task of rebuilding Christchurch after the earthquakes we found that almost everyone we spoke to, from tradies to architects to developers to landlords to home owners were in the same boat. Everyone was getting increasingly frustrated because they weren't getting what they needed to get on with doing their job. So we asked ourselves, what needs to change and what does everyone want? We found that most people wanted the same things: Jobs that get completed on time, within budget and with minimal call-backs. Work that is done to a consistent and high standard. To be listened to and to know that instructions will be followed. To communicate openly with people who would rather tell the truth than make excuses or shift the blame. Having everything under the control of one person who knows what they're doing, knows what's happening around them and can make decisions. Knowing that details are attended to and that corners aren't cut, especially when they can't be seen. Having people working on the site that are reliable, professional, clean and tidy, and who leave the site better than they found it. One company who could take control of the entire build finish. None of these were unrealistic or difficult so we've reinvented ourselves to be the build finish company that everyone wants to work with. We've kept the Wisker standards but now we can take your build from stud to finish; from interior design to Gib fixing to landscaping.
