Te Puna Ora o Mataatua (TPOOM) is a Whanau Ora based healthcare provider in the Mataatua region. Based on the Te Poutokomanawa o Te Puna Ora framework, TPOOM aims to provide a broader vision of Maori healthcare for local whanau, working with Maori-centred data to improve health outcomes for Maori. Through values of integrity, caring for others, putting people first, inclusivity, spirituality, and accountability, TPOOM is supporting the Maori health perspective in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Their health services include mental, physical, social, and emotional support with an integrated Whanau Ora approach. All Maori in the Mataatua region, including tamariki (2 - 14 year olds), rangatahi (16 - 24 year olds), and kaumatua (elders) can easily access healthcare that has been tailored to their needs. This includes counselling, home-based injury or disability support, education, and more. TPOOM is also privileged to be delivering Whanau Ora 3.0, the third incarnation of the Whanau Ora initiative. This time, it is focused on integration across all health services and enrollments for Maori, bringing the focus to community-based support.
