The New Plymouth Montessori School provides unique opportunities in primary education and early childhood for families that are focused on providing the very best experiences for their children. We operate as a parent owned and administered association and are one of NZ's leading Montessori schools, with large and well-resourced classrooms and outdoor environments.

The junior school offers a three year programme where 3 to 6 year olds engage in a wide range of activities to satisfy their changing needs. This includes practical life and sensorial through to mathematics, language, reading and writing, geography, art, music, science and Te Reo.

Our purpose built facility is set in 1.5 hectares of open play areas and native trees. Montessori developed the concept of Cosmic Education as a means of introducing children to the universe, enabling them to identify their place within it, as well as their responsibilities towards it.
