Dr Chris Holdaway is an experienced vascular surgeon in the Waikato region and is currently the Head of Surgery at Waikato Hospital.
Vascular Surgery is the medical discipline that specializes in the diagnosis, investigation and medical/surgical treatment of diseases of the arteries, veins (varicose veins & ulcers) and lymphatics. Until recently, the diagnosis of arterial diseases has relied upon angiography (an invasive procedure). Now, Duplex ultrasound, CT and MRI scans have made the diagnosis of arterial & venous disease much less invasive.
Whilst the treatment of vascular disease is not yet completely non-invasive, new developments in catheter based treatments (angioplasty, stent, sclerotherapy) have transformed much of vascular therapy into minimally invasive procedures. For more information please call the number above.
