Hearing Aids and Accessories

What is a Hearing Aid?
A hearing aid consists of a microphone that picks up sounds, an amplifier that makes it louder and a receiver that delivers the amplified sound to the ear.
Hearing aids today are much smaller than they used to be making them discreet, flexible and able to reduce disturbance from annoying whistling or wind.
Types of Hearing Aids
Receiver-in-the-ear: Sit behind the ear with a thin wire attached to a receiver which delivers sound to the ear canal.
Behind-the-ear: Tone hook on the end the attaches to a custom made ear mould.
In-the-ear: Fits neatly into the ear canal and parts of the outer ear.
In-the-canal: More discreet and fit neatly into the ear canal.
Completely-in-canal: Fits completely inside the ear canal and is more suitable for mild hearing loss.
