Dental (oral) Health Services offered:

Preschool child dental health services
School age child dental health services
Adolescent and hospital dental services
A limited range of publicly funded services for adults is available in the Bay of Plenty region.

For accidents causing facial and dental injuries, please contact the Emergency Department at Tauranga or Whakatane Hospitals or any local dentist.

Bay of Plenty families are encouraged to enrol their children from birth for free regular dental checks and dental treatment for children aged 5 to 8 years old.

Youth are entitled to free checkups and regular basic dental care from 9 years to their 18th birthday.

About Seller

Whakatane Hospital provides health services to the people of the Eastern Bay of Plenty. A secondary hospital, it provides level 4-5 services including: Medical Surgical Paediatrics Obstetrics Gynaecology Mental health. The hospital is also a base for a range of associated clinical support services and allied health, such as rehabilitation, speech therapy, physiotherapy, stroke and cardiac support, district nursing and drug and alcohol programmes. Visiting Hours: Between 2pm to 8pm daily. After hours visitors should report to reception where security staff will contact the relevant ward and clinical staff to make arrangements for your visit.
