We utilise the latest in vision technology to provide comprehensive eye-health testing, and to accurately diagnose any vision issues.
We also work with children in the field of Behavioural Optometry, this is a specialised field that looks specifically at vision for education. 80% of what we learn at school comes from vision, if you can't see you can't learn. Behavioural optometry looks at functional vision, this includes binocular vision, stable convergence and accommodative function; do both eyes work together, can the eyes come together to view near tasks and can this vision be maintained for long periods when doing concentrated close tasks like reading or using a computer.
Albany Optometrist are also an Irlen diagnostic clinic. We can identify and treat Irlen syndrome and provide treatment using the Irlen method. Irlen syndrome is a visual perception problem and common symptoms include light sensitivity, words moving or jumping when reading, aversion to reading, headaches and migraines.
